Frank B. Martin Jr., 53, general manager of the Washington office of Hay Associates, a management consulting firm, died Oct. 6 after suffering a heart attack while vacationing in Palm Springs, Calif.
He had joined the Philadelphia based firm in 1955 and had been a general partner in charge of the Washington office since 1972. He maintained residences in Malvern, Pa. and Washington.
Mr. Martin was a graduate of Haverford College and received a master's degree and doctorate from the University of Kentucky. He served as dean of Midway Junion College in Midway, Ky.; was on the graduate faculty of Ohio State University, and was chief of psychological services at chillicothe Veterans Hospital in Ohio before joining Hay Associates.
He was a founder of Paoli Hospital in Paoli, Pa., and a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association of Consulting Management Engineers. He was the author of a number of articles on hospital administration.
He is survived by his wife, Corinne Adams Martin, of the home; five children, Brad and Ross of the home In MalverN, Kirk and Tammy, of the Philadelphia area, and Kimberly, of Boston; his mother, Mrs. Frank B. Martin Sr., of Chester County, Pa. and a sister, Betty LYbrand, of Palm Springs.
