Lower Potomac and Chesapeake Bay - Fair with visibility of 5 miles or more. Winds will be from the northeast at 10 to 20 knots. Waves will build to near 2 feet.

Extended Area Forecast for Wednesday through Friday - A chance of rain during the first half of the period followed by gradual clearing. Highs will average in the 60s, lows in the 40s. Normal Washington temperatures are a high of 63 and a low of 44.

West Virginia: Today - Sunny and warmer with increasing cloudiness during the evening, high in the 60s, lows from the upper 20s to the upper 30s. Tuesday - Cloudy, chance of rain, high in the 60s.

The National Weather Forecast for TODAY - Rainshowers will be scattered from Florida across the eastern Gulf states into North Carolina.Showers will be widely scattered through the central Rockies. Skies will be cloudy over upper Michigan. Temperatures will be mild across Florida and the eastern Gulf Coast, as well as from western portions of the Ohio Valley into the lower Missouri Valley. Temperatures elsewhere over the nation will continue cool.

The Council of Government's Air Quality Index for yesterday showed the high reading in the Washington area during the 9 a.m. period was 10 for the pollutant, photochemical oxidants. Index values between 0 and 25 indicate good air quality. When the index exceeds 100 the air is considered very unhealthy and individuals with lung, heart and eye ailments are urged to restrict their activity. The forecast for today indicates that the air quality will remain good.
