On Tuesday, November 14, 1978, at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, KENNETH E. SHIFLET, of Falls Church, Va., beloved husband of Jean F. Kirk Shiflet, devoted father of Bonnie-Jeanne and James D. Parsons, of Parsons, W.Va., Debra Branan and Robert Kirk Shiflet of Virginia Beach, Va. and Jeffrey Woodson Shiflet of the home address, grandfather of Sherry Lynn, and Donna Jean Parsons. He also is survived by loving brothers and sisters, Ralph and Mary Shiflet, and Vivian and Robert Schumaker of Terre Haute, Ind., Frank and Margaret Shiflet of Waynesboro, Va., Vivian Ogden and Audrey and Sherman Collins of New Jersey, and a devoted mother-in-law, Mrs. Frank Kirk Long, also of New Jersey. He is the loving son of the late David Henry and Dora Bellie Woodson Shiflet. He also is survived by many loving nieces and nephews, and a host of relatives and friends. After 3 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, friends are invited to call at THE COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME, 6161 Leesburg Pike (7 Corners), Falls Church, Va., where the family will receive friends and where a prayer service will be offered at 8 p.m. by Bishop Garon Hanson of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and by other friends. On Friday, November 17, at 1:45 p.m., services will be held at the Ft. Myer Chapel, with Father John Frizzell and Deacon Bruce Stewart of St. Alban's Episcopal Church of which he was a member, officiating. Interment Arlington National Cemetery with full military honors.
