New fall and winter hours are in effect at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library and all branches of the D.C. Public Library.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. "Night owl" service is available Mondays through Thursdays from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. During those hours, the Black Studies and Popular Library Divisions on the first floor, and the underground parking garage are open, while all other divisions are closed.

Four regional branch libraries are also offering service four nights a week and all day Saturdays. They are: Chevy Chase, Fort Davis, Georgetown and Woodridge.

All other branch libraries are open Saturdays, but closed one weekday -- either Thursday or Friday -- and are also open two evenings until 9 p.m. Garnet C. Wilkinson is open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, and is closed Thursdays.

The four community libraries, Langston, R. L. Christian, Sursum Corda and Trinidad, are open from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

The three library kiosks, Barry Farms, Deanwood and Parklands, are open from 9:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.
