Shirley Ann Myers, who was a secretary to Rep. Robert W. Kastenmeier (D-Wis.) for 20 years, died of cancer Sunday at Montgomery General Hospital.

Mrs. Myers was born in San Bernardino. She first came to Washington in 1954 and joined the staff of former Rep. Glenard P. Lipscomb (R-Calif.). She later returned to California for reasons of health.

In 1959, she married Ernest Myers, whom she had met while working in Washington. The wedding was in San Bernardino. Shortly thereafter the couple moved to the Washington area and Mrs. Myers began working for Kastenmeier. She retired in August.

In addition to her work on Capitol Hill, Mrs. Myers was a volunteer in the campaigns of Idamae Garrott for delegate to the Maryland General Assembly from Montgomery County. She also was a volunteer at the Montgomery County Humane Society.

The family maintained homes in Silver Spring and in North Beach, Md. Mrs. Myers was a member of the North Beach Union Church and of several Bible study groups in the Laurel area.

In addition to her husband, of the homes, survivors include a daughter, Carol Ann, also of the homes; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Roscoe McGrew, of San Marino, Calif., and a brother, Dennis, of Palos Verdes, Calif.

The family suggests the expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the North Beach Union Church, North Beach, Md., 20831.
