Three Washington men were killed Friday night in unrelated incidents within two hours of each other, D.C. police reported yesterday.
At 9:30 p.m., John C. Dauaghtry, 55 was shot in the chest by an unknown assailant when he opened the front door of his home at 1517 D St. SE in response to a knock. Police said robbery was the motive. Daughtry was pronounced dead at D.c. General Hospital at 11:40 p.m.
At 9:50 p.m., Clifton lee jones 28, of 1962 West Virginia Ave. NE, was found lying in front of 1704 Ninth St. NW. He had been shot in the chest. Jones was taken to Washington Hospital Center and was pronounced dead at 11:40 p.m. Police said they have no motive or suspects in the shooting.
At 11 p.m., Donnie McMillan, 28, of 1738 Bryant St. NE, was found fatally shot in the abdomen in front of a house at 1731 Bryant St. NE. He was taken to D.C. General Hospital and pronounced dead at 1:40 a.m.
Police said Francis Robinson, 19, of 1724 Montana Ave. NE., has been charged with homicide in connection with McMillan's death.
