Two Northern Virginia residents were killed and three others were injured in a three-car accident late Friday on Richmond Highway in Fairfax County, just north of the Prince William line, police said.

David Chapman, 10, 1516 Carter La., Woodbridge, and David Pauley, 40, 110 Poplar Ave., Occoquan, were pronounced dead at Mount Vernon Hospital shortly after the 11 p.m. collision near the Hillbilly Heaven Lounge at 10001 Richmond Hwy., said the police spokesman.

They were passengers in a car driven by Victoria Kelley, 18, 4633 Evansdale Rd., Dale City. She was listed in satisfactory conditon with head injuries at DeWitt Hospital at Fort Belvoir, a nursing supervisor there said yesterday.

Kelley, the daughter of retired Army master sergeant Richard Kelley, apparently lost control of her car as she drove south on Rt. 1, police said. Her vehicle skidded into the northbound lane where it struck a car driven by 16-year-old Deborah Sykes, 5501 Trim St., Alexandria, police said.

A third car driven by Barbara Downs, 8418 Cherry Valley La., Alexandria, ran into the rear of Syke's car. Downs was only "shaken up" in the collision, a police spokesman said.

Sykes and a passenger in her car, 18-year-old Robert W. Croft, 811 Plum St., Vienna, were treated for bruises and lacerations and released from Potomac Hospital, a spokesman there said yesterday.

No charges had been filed in the accident yesterday.
