Harriet Ann Struyk, 52, a Washington area resident who was active in church and women's groups, died of a liver disorder Thursday at Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church.
Mrs. Struyk, who was born and reared in Paterson, N.J., came to this area in 1967, when her husband, retired Navy Cmdr. Richard Struyk, joined the staff of the Chief of Naval Operations at the Pentagon.
She was active in the Trinity Episcopal Church in Arlington and a volunteer in the church shop. She was a former member of the Arlington Women's Club and was active in the Lake Braddock Women's Bridge Club and the Seminary Ladies Bowling League.
Besides her husband, and a daugher, Leslie Karen, both of the home in Burke, Va., survivors include another daughter, Judithanne Nearns, of Richmond; a son, Richard Jr., of Woodbridge; her mother, Julia Bingham, of Paterson, N.Y., and a grandson.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to a memorial fund in her name for research into liver disease at the Fairfax Hospital in Falls Church, to the Hospice of Northern Virginia Inc. in Arlington, or to a charity of one's choice.
