Florence Veirs Abert, 90, a lifelong resident of Rockville, who was active in St. Mary's Catholic Church there, died of cardiac arrest Friday at her Rockville home.
Mrs. Abert was born on her father's dairy farm in Rockville on the site of what is now the Lakewood Country Club. She attended the former Miss Lucy Simpson's School in Rockville and graduated from the old Rockville Academy.
She was married for 50 years to F. Bache Abert, a Rockville bank executive and town official, who died in 1964.
She was a lifelong member of St. Mary's Church and active in the sodality there.
Mrs. Abert was an active needlework and crewel craftswoman and had completed work on a 42" by 42" still life shortly before her death.
Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. R. R. Williams, and a son, William B., both of Rockville; two other sons, Charles, of Sea Girt, N.J., and F. Bache Jr., of Frederick, Md.; two sisters, Mrs. William A. Pate and Mrs. j. Vinson Peter, both of Rockville, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that expressions of sympathy be in the form of contributions to the Building Fund at St. Mary's Church in Rockville.
