A group of Washington area community leaders has established the Joseph B. Danzansky Commemoration Committee and a non-profit, tax-exempt fund in memory of the late community leader and businessman.

Elected to head the committee were Paul S. Forbes, chairman, and Raymond R. Dickey, co-chairman.

Forbes served as Danzansky's chief aide for many years and worked closely with him on community projects. He is now president of Drug Fair, Inc.

Dickey, a long-time friend of Danzansky, was his law partner for more than 20 years. Dickey is now senior partner in the law firm of Danzansky, Dickey, Tydings, Quint and Gordon.

The committee will place its emphasis on supporting programs and projects that continue Danzansky's life work, Forbes said. One idea under consideration is to award recognition and support to persons or groups who do the most to heal the ills of the community.

Contributions to the fund are welcomed and are tax deductible. Checks should be made payable to the Joseph B. Danzansky Commemoration Fund, c/o The Community Foundation of Greater Washington, Inc., 3221 M St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20007.
