On Wednesday, February 20, 1980, at the Howard University Hospital, THE REV. SAMUEL GUILES, Pastor of Turner Memorial African Methodist Episcopal Church, 600 Eye st. nw.; beloved husband of Anne Rowe Guiles; son of the late Rev. William Samuel Guiles and Areta Green Guiles. Aside from his wife, he is survived by four sisters, Lessie Waters of Toledo, Ohio, Kay Bertha Davis of Forestville, Conn., Mary Spears of New Britain, Conn. and Julia Burgess of Columbia, S.C.; two brothers, Earl E. Guiles of Florence, S.C. and Alexander Guiles of Columbia, S.C.; his mother-in-law, Henrietta C. Rowe of Washington D.C.; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends. The late Rev. Guiles will lie in state at the Turner Memorial Church on Friday, February 22, from 3 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday, February 23, from 9 to 10:45 a.m., after which the funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. The Rt. Rev. Henry W. Murph will officiate. Interment will be at the Lincoln Memorial Cemetery. Arrangements by the John t. rhines COMPANY FUNERAL HOME. The family suggests that contributions be made to the Building Fund of Turner Memorial Church or to the Cancer Research Center, Howard University.
