He leaves to mourn their loss, a devoted wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Gainey; one brother Mr. Thomas Gainey of Cleveland, Ohio; eight neices, Mrs. Viola Jefferson, Dorothea Hector and Grace Smith of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Dorothy Winston of New York, Mrs. Alice McCoy of Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Lucy Phyllis and Jenneth Evans of Plainfield, N.J.; three nephews Mr. James Grimes of King George, Va., Mr. Zachary Grimes of Maryland and Mr. Donald Evans of New Jersey; two devoted cousins Mrs. and Mrs. James Coleman of Washington, D.C.; five sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Evangelist M. B. Robinson of Baltimore, Md., Evangelist E. J. Johnson and Mrs. Mary Ball of Washington, D.C., Mrs. Ethel Gainey of Cleveland, Ohio, Mrs. Sara Gainey of Philadelphia, Pa., Mrs. Simon Stewart of Washington, D.C. and Mr. George Stewart of King George, Va.; four godchildren Mr. Charlie Hopewell, Mrs. Diane Savoy, Mrs. Helen Grost and Mr. James Jones; a host of other relatives and friends. The late Rev. Gainey will lie in state at Corinthian Baptist Church, 500 Eye st. nw., where friends may call from 5 to 10 p.m., Friday, March 21, where funeral services will be held Saturday, March 22, at 10 a.m. Further viewing and a brief service Antioch Baptist Church, King George County, Va.
