Fairfax County Republicans will hold mass meetings in eight locations tonight as the first step in selecting delegates for the GOP's national convention later this year.
The results of the meetings -- and the actual strength of Republican presidential contender in the county -- probably will not be clear until the party holds its Fairfax convention April 19.
Northern Virginia results must also await the outcome of mass meetings to be held in Prince William County on Thursday, Loudoun County, April 12; Fairfax City, April 21, Falls Church, May 1, and Arlington, May 10. 1
Unlike Virginia's Democrats, who held all their mass meetings Saturday, Virginia Republicans will meet in a series of variously scheduled caucuses leading up to the Congressional District meetings in May and the state GOP convention in Richmond on June 6-7. Ultimately, 51 delegates will be chosen to attend the national convention in July.
