The Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority will adjust schedules on several District of Columbia Metrobus routes beginning Sunday, April 20. Include is an adjustment to Route 81 so that it will again serve the Kennedy Center. The following schedule adjustments will be made:

Route 40, 42, 46 and 48 (Mount Pleasant Line) -- New weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules will be in effect. The new schedules will more accurately reflect the time required for the detour and one-way operation of the East Capitol Street Bridge. All trips that operate via the detour route will be redesignated Route 48.

Routes 80 and 81 (North Capitol Street Line) -- New weekday, Saturday and Sunday schedules will be in effect. Route 81 will again serve the Kennedy Center via 19th Street, G Street, Virginia Avenue and New Hampshire Avenue southbound, and by New Hamshire Avenue, H Street, 23rd Street, F Street and 18th Street northbound.

Routes £2, £3, £4, £5, £7, £8 and £9 (Connecticut Avenue Line) -- New weekday schedules will be in effect, with adjustments to Route £5 and extra trips during the evening on Routes £4 and £8.

Routes V1, V3, V5, V5, V7 and V9 (Southeast Express Line) -- New weekday schedules will be in effect to inprove morning inbound service on Routes V5, V7 and V9, and Afternoon outbound service on Routes V5 and V7.

Route W4 (Portland Street Line) -- A new weekday schedule will be in effect to improve afternoon westbound service during rush hour.

Route X8 (Carver Terrace Line) -- New weekday schedules will be in effect to provide trips every 25 minutes instead of every 20 minutes during rush hours.

New timetables for the affected routes will be available by calling the transit authority at 637-1261.
