Summer service hours are in effect at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library and all branch libraries.

The King library, at 901 G St. NW, is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Saturdays. The Children's Division is open the same hours.

The Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped is open from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and closed Saturdays. Night Owl Service is closed for the summer.

Most branch libraries, including regional branch libraries, are open 40 hours a week. Most offer evening service two nights a week, and all branches are closed Saturdays and Sundays.

Branches open from 1 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays are Capitol View, Cleveland Park, Northeast, Southwest, Watha T. Daniel and West End.

Branches open from 1 to 9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays are Anacostia, Benning, Mount Pleasant, Palisades, Southeast, Takoma Park, Tenley-Friendship and Washington Highlands.

Branches open from 1 to 9 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays and 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays are Chevy Chase, Georgetown, Fort Davis, Petworth and Woodridge.

The Garnet C. Wilkinson branch is open from from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on weekdays and closed Saturdays.

The four community libraries and three kiosks are open from 12:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Wednesdays; from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. These are the Langston, R.I. Christian, Sursum Corda and Trinidad community libraries and the Deanwood, Parklands and Barry Farms kiosks.
