A 19-year old Oxon Hill man was arrested and charged with murderous assault and rape yesterday after he allegedly attacked a couple who surprised him as he broke into their home, Prince George's County Police reported.
Wayne C. Kiley is accused of vicicously beating a 29-year-old man who surprised him and raping the man's 28-year-old wife. The man was listed in critical condition yesterday at Greater Southeast Community Hospital.
The couple was wakened at 2 a.m., according to police, by noises coming from the first floor of their home. The husband went to investigate while his wife called police.
The husband confronted an intruder in the second-floor hallway and the two men struggled until the husband was beaten unconscious.
The intruder then grabbed his wife forced her to leave the house with him and raped her in nearby bushes.
Police arrived within 10 minutes of receiving a call from the wife and found her and her assailant struggling near the house. The man grabbed the woman and used her as a shield while he backed into the nearby woods, police said, then flung her to the ground and fled.
The wife then led police to her unconscious husband.
Police dogs picked up a scent at the scene of the assaults and tracked it to kiley's home at 6701 Belfast Rd. Kiley was arrested and held without bond at the County Detention Center in Upper Marlboro.
