Metro will offer special bus service to and from Ronald Reagan's swearing-in and the Inaugural Parade on Tuesday.
On many routes, however, Metro buses will be running on a modified Saturday schedule on Tuesday, which means that morning and evening rush-hour service to and from many employment centers will not be operated.
Most of the special Metro buses will begin their Inaugural Day runs in outlying suburbs and terminate at subway stations where passengers will switch to trains for the trip downtown.
Regular offpeak bus fares will be charged -- a basic 60 cents plus a surcharge for crossing the District of Columbia line from Maryland or Virginia. The regular procedures for transferring between buses and trains will be in effect.
Following is the list, released by Metro, of bus routes on which extra service will be operated. Routes not shown will follow the normal Saturday procedure, either operating on a reduced schedule or not at all. Maryland and D.C. routes
