Registration is being taken through May 11 for the 1981 Coca-Cola/Washington Urban League Home Town Run May 17 to benefit the youth services of the Washington Urban League.

The 15-kilometer race through Dupont Circle, Adams-Morgan, Stanton Park, Howard University and Capitol Hill begins at 8:30 a.m. A 3-kilometer fun run for runners, race walkers and wheelchair participants begins at 8:35 a.m. Both begin at the District Building.

Celebrity races, entertainment and food and drink from more than 15 restaurants will also be featured at the Home Town Run festival, to be held at Western Plaza and the District Building, 14th Street and Pennsylvania Avenue NW, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Mayor Marion Barry has announced that the Mayor's Cup will go to the top male and female finishers in the 15-kilometer event. "I urge all District residents to support this event and to support on a continuing basis the vital work of the Washington Urban League," he said.

In addition to the Mayor's Cup, 15-kilometer entrants will compete for 140 awards in individual age categories and 130 awards in individual team categories.
