Andrew Stahl Walker, 16, a resident of Silver Spring and a student at Robert E. Peary High School in Rockville, died July 9 at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda from injuries received in a highway accident July 7 in which two other youths were killed.
Montgomery County Police said Mr. Walker and Andrew Jay Ellen, 18, of Rockville, were passengers in a car driven by Si Won Lee, 19, of Rockville. Police said the car apparently was traveling at a high rate of speed when it ran out of control on a curve and hit a guard rail and then a tree.
Authorities said Ellen and Lee were pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Walker was taken to Suburban Hospital, where he died two days later.
Mr. Walker, who was born in Chicago, had lived in the Washington area for the past 10 years. He recently had completed his junior year at Peary High School. He played the guitar and his hobbies included fishing and water sports.
His survivors include his mother, Sandra, of Silver Spring; his father, Robert G., of Bridgewater, Vt.; a sister, Jessica, of Silver Spring; a brother, Leigh Robert, also of Silver Spring, and two grandparents, Frank and Gladys Catanzano of Pittsburgh.
