Eleven five-session career counseling workshops are being offered this fall by the Fairfax county Re-entry Women's Employment Center for Fairfax County residents.

Most of the workshops begin Oct. 19 at Sherwood Regional Library and Nov. 16 at Kings Park Library.

"Re-entering," a workshop for women returning to the job market after a long absence, began Wednesday at Hunter House in Vienna. Additional workshops begin Sept. 24 at Immanuel Presbyterian Church in McLean, Oct. 13 at Wilton Woods School, Nov. 5 at the Mason Governmental Center, and Nov. 11 at Pender United Methodist Church in Fairfax.

"Translate Teaching into a New Career," a workshop designed to help former teachers discover ways their teaching skills can be transferred to other career fields, began Wednesday at Richard Byrd Library, and will start Oct. 13 at the Reston Community Center and Nov. 11 at Devonshire School.

A $40 fee for each series also includes the use of four months of center facilities and services such as a career reference library, access to current job listings, resume writing workshops, job hunters' support groups, a monthly newsletter and job placement assistance. The center offers a limited number of scholarships based on financial need.
