The District government recently presented certificates of merit to 18 restaurants that have had consistently high scores on food sanitation inspections.
The following restaurants received awards from the Department of Environmental Services for high scores on all inspections over a nine-month period and for no cases of food-borne illness or a license suspension during the previous year:
La Plaza Restaurant, 1847 Columbia Rd. NW; New Orleans Cafe, 1790 Columbia Rd. NW; Burger King, 4422 Connecticut Ave. NW; Yummy Yogurt of F Street, Inc., 1337 F St. NW; G.A.O. Cafeteria-G.S.I. No. 3300, 441 G St. NW; Plain & Fancy, 1501 H St. NW; Tartufo Restaurant, 1200 New Hampshire Ave. NW; Pueblo Joe's Mexican Restaurant, 4200 Wisconsin Ave. NW; L'Express, 2660 Woodley Rd. NW; Sheraton Washington Early Light, 2660 Woodley Rd. NW; Court Yard Cafe, 2660 Woodley Rd. NW, and 5th and G Eatery, 702 5th St. NW.
Also, Southern Deli Restaurant, 920 15th St. NW; Solar Coffee Shop, 1000 16th St. NW; McDonald's of 17th and Corcoran, 1619 17th St. NW; American Security Bank Cafeteria, Marriott Corp., 635 Massachusetts Ave. NW; Library of Congress Snack Bar, A.R.A.
