Prince George's County police said yesterday they have no leads to the gunmen who killed an off-duty county police officer Monday night after robbing a Hillcrest Heights jewelry store.
Police are circulating composite photographs of the two men believed to have shot 28-year-old Raymond Hubbard as they ran out the front door of a Kay Jeweler's store in the Iverson Mall shopping center on Branch Avenue. A third suspect, who forced the store manager to open a rear door for his escape, is also at large. Police have alerted neighboring jurisdictions to be on the lookout for the gunmen.
A District of Columbia man was treated at Howard University Hospital Monday night for a wound he claimed to have received from a stray bullet during the shootout, but county police said yesterday they have not linked him with the incident.
A hearse bearing the body of the slain officer will be escorted by a police motorcycle squad from Gasch's funeral home in Hyattsville to Largo, where it will lie from 12 to 3 p.m. today at the Riverdale Baptist Church.
After a memorial service at the church, the body will be flown to Hubbard's birthplace in Georgia for burial.
