Jeanne Madden Huley, 62, a retired Fairfax County school librarian and a resident of Arlington since 1946, died March 13 at Arlington Hospital of injuries she suffered in an automobile accident on March 8.
Falls Church police said the accident occurred while Mrs. Huley was mailing a letter at the drive-in window of the Falls Church Post Office. They said she had one foot on the ground when her automobile began to roll forward after her other foot apparently slipped off the brake. She failed to regain control of the vehicle, which came to rest on Annandale Road.
Mrs. Huley retired from Lemon Road Elementary School in July 1981 after 17 years with the Fairfax school system. She was a member of the National, Virginia and Fairfax education associations, as well as the Tuckahoe Recreation, International Town and Country and St. John's Bridge clubs. She belonged to St. James Catholic Church in Falls Church.
She was a graduate of Trenton State Teachers College in her native New Jersey.
Survivors include her husband, Robert J., of Arlington; three sons, Robert M., of Falls Church, and Peter H., and Kevin P., both of Richmond; a daughter, Elizabeth H. Roach of Vienna; a sister, Patricia Donnelly of Winston-Salem, N.C., and four grandchildren.
