Ned O'Reilly, 61, owner of the Ned O'Reilly Real Estate Co. at Baileys Crossroads in Falls Church, died April 16 at Northern Virginia Doctors Hospital after a stroke. He lived in Falls Church.
Mr. O'Reilly, who was born in Wethersfield, Conn., graduated from Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.
He joined the Marine Corps during World War II and served in the Pacific. A reserve officer, he was recalled to active duty during the Korean conflict. He retired from the service in 1953 with the rank of major.
Mr. O'Reilly moved to Washington in 1951 and worked for several area real estate firms before establishing his own company in 1958.
He was a founder of the Baileys Crossroads Little League. He also was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Anthony's Catholic Church and St. Anthony's post of the Catholic War Veterans.
Survivors include his wife, Nancy McGauley O'Reilly of Falls Church; four sons, the Rev. Andrew O'Reilly of Cincinnati, Rick, of Fairfax, Dan, of Sterling, and Tim, of Falls Church; a daughter, Kathy, of Alexandria; his father, Andrew Reilly of West Hartford, Conn.; three sisters, Rhea Grant of West Hartford, Jeanne Cushing of Southington, Conn., and Roseanne Morier of Rocky Hill, Conn., and one grandchild.
