The D.C. Department of Human Services is seeking people to serve on the new Postsecondary Education Advisory Council.
The council was established to help improve postsecondary education in the District and to advise on DHS higher education programs including the D.C. State Student Incentive Grant Scholarship Program. The chief of the Office of State Education Affairs will serve as executive officer of the council.
It is to be composed of: three representatives each from the University of the District of Columbia and private institutions of higher education with enrollments under 2,000; five from private institutions of higher education with enrollments over 2,000; one each from an independent nonprofit institution of postsecondary education, an independent proprietary institution of postsecondary education, the D.C. Department of Human Services and the D.C. Board of Education; two from other providers of postsecondary education services; one student each from the University of the District of Columbia, a postsecondary educational institution and a private institution of higher education, and five representatives of the general public.
