At the request of Advisory Neighborhood Commission 2B and neighborhood residents, a "No Turn on Red" sign will be installed at P Street for southbound 23rd Street motorists. Residents complained that motorists were not stopping at the red light before turning onto P Street.
ANC Vice Chairman Ken Rothschild has been forced to resign from the ANC after the owner of his apartment building at 2148 O St. NW decided to stop operating it as a rental apartment building. Linda Minich has replaced him as vice chairman. A new commissioner is needed to represent Rothschild's single-member district, which is bounded by N Street on the south, 23rd Street and Florida Avenue on the west, P Street on the north and 21st Street on the east. Registered D.C. voters who have lived in the single-member district for at least six months may pick up petitions for the position from the Board of Elections and Ethics in the District Building.
The ANC testified at a recent Board of Zoning Adjustment hearing that the owners of the former Owl School at 1608 New Hampshire Ave. NW should not be allowed to turn the building into law offices. The ANC argued that the building should be returned to residential use.
