A series of informal meetings on the proposed Comprehensive Plan for the National Capital has been scheduled by the D.C. Office of Planning and Development. The plan recommends general policies and strategies for land use, housing, economic development, transportation, public facilities and neighborhood planning in the city through the year 2000

The meetings will be held in the Office of Planning and Development meeting room, fourth floor, Lansburgh's Building, 420 Seventh St. NW. Various aspects of the proposed plan will be discussed on the following dates: housing on Tuesday; public facilities on Nov. 23; transportation on Nov. 30; environmental protection on Dec. 7; and urban design and historic perservation on Dec. 14. Participants are invited to bring their lunch.

Meetings on the overall plan also are being held in each of the city's eight wards. The Ward 8 meting will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Terrell Elementary School, Wheeler Road and Savannah Street SE. The schedule for the remaining meetings, each of which will begin at 7:30 p.m., is:

Ward 1, Nov. 30, 1620 V St. NW; Ward 2, Dec. 2, fourth floor, Lansburgh's Building, 420 Seventh St. NW; Ward 5, Nov. 22, 1805 Bladensburg Rd. NE; Ward 6, Dec. 8, Hine Junior High School auditorium, Eighth Street and Pennsylvania Avenue SE, and Ward 7, Nov. 18, 100 42nd St. NE.
