Applications for the D.C. Department of Recreation's day-care programs for children from 2 1/2 to 5 years old are being accepted through Friday.

Eligibility for the program is determined by a family's size, yearly income and residence in the District or verified participation in city-approved training programs.

Programs at the centers, which are funded by the D.C. Department of Human Services, provide children lunch and two snacks daily.

Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and Friday at the following centers: Bald Eagle, Martin Luther King Avenue and Joliet Street SE; Banneker, Euclid Street and Georgia Avenue NW; Barry Farms/Birney, Martin Luther King Avenue and Sumner Road SE; Benning Park, 53rd Street and Southern Avenue SE; Bryan, Independence Avenue between 13th and 14th streets SE; Deanwood, 49th and Quarless streets NE; Douglass, 20th Street and Stanton Terrace SE; Early Childhood Developmental Center, 3030 G St. SE.

Also East Capitol, 5725 East Capitol St. SE; Emery, Lincoln Road and Randolph Place NE; Kenilworth-Parkside, 4300 Anacostia Ave. NE; Langston, 2209 H St. NW; Malcolm X, 13th Street and Alabama Avenue SE; New York Avenue, First Street and New York Avenue NW; Powell-Lincoln, 16th and Irving streets NW; Randall, South Capitol and I streets SW; Rosedale, 17th and Gales streets NE; Stoddert Terrace, 155 Ridge Rd.
