Edna D. Dalton, 70, a secretary and office manager at Shayne Brothers, a solid waste disposal company, and a deaconess at the First Baptist Church in Hyattsville, died Dec. 2 at Prince George's General Hospital of injuries she received Nov. 12 in a traffic accident in Hyattsville.

An official of the Hyattsville police said Mrs. Dalton was a passenger in a car driven by her husband, Harry Dalton, which jumped the median strip on East West Highway and collided with an oncoming van.

Mrs. Dalton, who lived in Hyattsville, was born in Charlottesville. She moved to the Washington area as a young woman and about 1934 and went to work for the F.W. Woolworth Co., where she became a sales supervisor. She remained there until about 1960. In 1962, she joined Shayne Brothers and remained there until her death.

Her first husband, William Garrison, died in the 1930s.

In addition to her husband, of Hyattsville, survivors include a son by her first marriage, William D. Garrison of Alexandria; four brothers, Arthur M. Dudley of Crownsville, Md., Andrew W. Dudley of Dallas, James R. Dudley of Tucson, and John D. Dudley of Lanham; a sister, Mary Louise Dixon of Colonial Beach, Va.; seven grandchildren, six stepgrandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a stepgreat-grandchild.
