D.C. police arrested a 27-year-old Washington man last night and charged him with felony murder in connection with the April 22 shooting death of Lonnie Huff in the Potomac Gardens housing development in Southeast.
Police said Gregory Leon Holston of 522 14th St. SE was being held overnight in the D.C. Jail pending arraignment today. Police said Holston was arrested early in the evening in the 500 block of 14th Street SE. No additional details on the arrest were available early this morning.
Lonnie Huff, 27, of 1930 I St. NE, was killed and his brother, Andrew Huff, 38, of 4015 Fourth St. NW, was seriously injured when a man with a handgun stood them against a wall and shot them at close range early in the evening April 22 at 13th and I streets SE.
After reloading, the gunman reportedly fired at other persons in a courtyard of the development and shortly afterward shot a man riding a bicycle on the nearby street.
Witnesses said at the time that the gunman was accompanied by another man.
Huff, who was shot in the heart, was the third of four people who have been slain this year in the housing development, which police say is a site of heavy drug trafficking.
