County Executive Charles Gilchrist is seeking applicants to fill vacancies on the Montgomery County Board of Social Services, Revenue Authority, Health Services Planning Board and Commission on Handicapped Individuals.
The Board of Social Services advises the county's Department of Social Services on public assistance matters. Two vacancies must be filled. Members serve three-year terms without compensation.
The Revenue Authority is empowered to develop, maintain and administer various projects designed for public use. One vacancy must be filled. Members serve five-year terms with compensation of $40 a meeting, not to exceed $1,000 a year.
The Health Services Planning Board plans for the community's health care needs and informs the public about health-related issues. The seven vacancies must be filled by four people representing providers of health services and three people representing consumers of health services. Members serve three-year terms without compensation.
The Commission on Handicapped Individuals advises the county executive on programs and services for handicapped citizens. Three vacancies must be filled by a parent of a disabled citizen and two representatives of organizations that provide services to handicapped individuals. Members serve three-year terms without compensation.
