The following zoning variance requests were filed with the Arlington County government between June 21 and Aug. 1. They are scheduled to be heard by the Board of Zoning Appeals, at 7 p.m. Sept. 12 in Room 202 of the County Court House.

ARMY-NAVY DR. S., 1805--Harold and Noreen Mercer requested a variance to build a side addition 14 feet from the front property line instead of the 25 feet required, and eight feet from the rear property line instead of the 25 feet required.

CLEVELAND ST. N., 1306--William Louis Kucera requested a variance to build a rear addition 10 feet from the rear property line instead of the 25 feet required.

EDISON ST. N., 363--William and Mary Brewer requested a variance to construct an attached garage with a room above it 20 feet from the front property line instead of the 25 feet required, and eight feet from the rear property line instead of the 10 feet required.

GARFIELD ST. N., 1032--T.J. Bell requested a variance to erect a free-standing sign on a lot 54 feet from the front property line instead of the 100 feet required.

GRANT ST. S., 2601--A.J. and Elizabeth Adams requested a variance to build a side addition two feet from the side property line instead of the eight feet required.

GREENBRIER ST. N., 1408--E. Kendrick and Jean Hurt requested a variance for a second story addition closer to the garage than the 15 foot minimum separation required.

HARTFORD ST. N., 1411--William and Sharon MacDonald requested a variance for a rear addition three feet from the side property line instead of the six feet previously granted by the Board of Zoning Appeals.

JACKSON ST. S., 219--George Manousakis requested a variance for a garage closer to the house than the 15 foot minimum separation required.

SYCAMORE ST. N., 2902 through 2922 (Williamsburg Shopping Center)--Nicholas Kalis, Williamsburg Associates Inc., requested a variance for a sign to be free-standing instead of set against a wall, and to place the sign 18 feet from the road instead of the required 25 feet.

THOMAS ST. N., 2160--Harold F. Kenny requested a variance for a house 16 feet from the front property line instead of the 30 feet required, and 15 feet from the rear property line instead of the 25 feet required.

FIRST RD. N., 2825--Darryl Cain requested a variance to construct a rear deck three feet from the side property line instead of the five feet required and closer to a shed than the 15 feet required.

FOURTH ST. S., 5800--William A. Moore, attorney for the Estate of Carl Schulze, requested a variance to build a house 18 feet from the front property line instead of the 30 feet required.
