Arlington County police received the following crime reports from Aug. 12 through Aug. 18: Assault
ARLINGTON BLVD., 2400 block at 1:20 a.m. Aug. 18. A woman who had parked her car in a parking lot was approached by a man who grabbed her, threw her to the pavement and hit and kicked her. The woman managed to flee. Sexual Offense
POLLARD ST. N., 900 block at 9:30 p.m. Aug. 17. A woman was in a laundry room when a man holding a knife jumped in front of her. The man forced her to her apartment and raped her. He bound her hands and feet, took some money and fled. Robberies
GLEBE RD. S., 1000 block at 4:15 a.m. Aug. 14. A man and a woman were approached by two men, one of whom said he had a gun, and were told to hand over their money. Ten dollars was taken from the woman and $18 from the man.
RTE. 110 S., 200 block at 7:45 p.m. Aug. 15. Two pedestrians were approached by a man who asked for directions and small change. The man then said "Give me your camera" and grabbed an Olympus camera belonging to one of the pedestrians while hitting him with a stick. Thefts/Break-ins
COLUMBIA PIKE, 5500 block on Aug. 14. A woman took an oak-finished roll-top desk from an apartment, saying the desk belonged to her and the tenant was supposed to buy it but never paid for it. No signs of forced entry.
JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY., 1200 block on Aug. 16. A 1981 Chevrolet Monte Carlo was taken from a garage, and the keys to the car and $180 in foreign currency were taken from a residence. There were no signs of forced entry.
JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY., 1200 block, Aug. 1 to Aug. 16. A blue .22-caliber revolver and a box of ammunition were taken from a residence. No signs of forced entry.
JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY., 2500 block, 4 p.m. Aug. 17 to 1:30 a.m. Aug. 18. A brown metal safe and money were taken from a business. Entry was by prying open a side door.
JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY., 2600 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 14 to 7 a.m. Aug. 15. Three hundred dollars was taken from a business. No signs of forced entry.
LEE HWY. N., 4700 block on Aug. 17. Two cash boxes and money were taken from a business. Entry was by kicking in a rear door.
MCKINLEY RD. N., 1000 block at 5:30 p.m. Aug. 13. An officer responding to an alarm met two witnesses who had seen two boys throwing rocks through the rear windows of a school and trying to reach through the window and grab a calculator. Two suspects were arrested nearby.
SCOTT ST. N., 2100 block, 9 p.m. Aug. 15 to 8:30 a.m. Aug. 16. A silver serving tray, a ladder, a $425 check and $850 were taken from a business. Entry was through an unlocked window.
WILSON BLVD., 2600 block, 7 p.m. Aug. 15 to 6 a.m. Aug. 16. A 1983 Chevrolet Malibu was taken from a business.
SEVENTH ST. N., 4400 block, 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 17. Audio equipment was taken from a residence. Entry was through a rear door.
22ND ST. S., 1500 block, 3 to 6 p.m. on Aug. 11. Silverware was taken from a residence. Entry was by breaking a basement window.
28TH ST. N., 6000 block, 9 a.m. Aug. 12 to 8:30 a.m. Aug. 13. A residence was broken into. Nothing was reported stolen. Fairfax County

AMERICANA DR., 4900 block. Jewelry was taken from an apartment.
ARLINGTON BLVD., 6100 block. A Panasonic portable stereo radio and a Canon camera and lens were stolen from a hotel room.
BALDWIN DR., 1700 block. A .45-caliber pistol was taken from a house.
BRIARWOOD CT., 4400 block. Two revolvers and a Minolta camera and lens were taken from an apartment.
CARLIN SPRINGS RD., 3500 block. A Mamiya camera was taken from a business after forced entry.
CEDAR LA., 2200 block. A Panasonic tape recorder, jewelry, watches and rings were stolen from a residence. Entry was through a window.
GRAHAM RD., 3100 block. One hundred dollars was taken from a home. Entry was through a broken window.
GREENWOOD DR., 6100 block. An apartment was entered and set on fire. Entry was by kicking in the front door.
LEE HIGHWAY, 7300 block. Prescription medications were taken from a store. Entry was by breaking the front door glass.
LEESBURG PIKE, 5800 block. A Panasonic radio and about $1,000 were taken from an office. Entry was through a second-story window.
LEESBURG PIKE, 5700 block. An acetylene torch, assorted tools and two tires were taken from a business. Entry was by prying a side door.
HILLCREST PLACE, 6300 block. An Olympus camera, a Fuji camera, lenses and a watch were stolen from a home. Entry was by forcing a sliding glass door.
LINCOLNIA RD., 4700 block. A Toro lawn mower was taken from a shed.
LITTLE RIVER TURNPIKE, 6300 block. An RCA color television, three Gold Star televisions and a Tappan microwave oven were taken from offices. Entry was by prying a window.
LITTLE RIVER TURNPIKE, 7300 block. About $1,200 was taken from an office.
LONGFELLOW ST., 1500 block. Two rings and a necklace were stolen from a house. Entry was by prying a basement window.
MONTROSE ST., 6300 block. A house was ransacked and coins, necklaces, two calculators and a watch were taken. Entry was by prying a side patio door.
MOSSBROOKE CT., 3800 block. Gold earrings, two bracelets and a ring were taken from a home.
POPLAR ST., 7200 block. A Pitney-Bowes postage scale worth $600 was taken from the garage of a business.
SUMMERS LA., 5900 block. A York window air-conditioning unit was removed from an office window.
VALLEY CREST BLVD., 7400 block. A home was entered and ransacked.

ANNANDALE RD. E., 100 block on Aug. 11. About $700 was taken from a desk at a child-care center at lunchtime.
BROAD ST. W., 400 block on Aug. 11. A midget dirt bike worth $800 was stolen from outside a home.
BROAD ST. W., 1000 block on Aug. 16. Three chain saws were taken from a lawn mower shop during business hours.
FAIRFAX ST. E., 100 block on Aug. 16. A boy's 26-inch blue bicycle was stolen from a sidewalk outside a home.
PARK AVE., 100 block on Aug. 16. About $500 in cash and checks were taken from an auto parts store during business hours.
WASHINGTON ST. S., 1100 between Aug. 10 and Aug. 17. Two bucket seats were taken from a 1965 white Volkswagen in a parking lot.
