Arlington County police received the following crime reports from Aug. 19 through Aug. 25 Homicide
VEITCH ST. N., 1700 block at 4:37 a.m. Aug. 23. A woman who apparently was thrown off the 20th Street bridge was found dead in the westbound lane of I-66 by a motorist. A 33-year-old Arlington man who lived with the woman was arrested and charged with first-degree murder. Driving While Intoxicated
RTE. 50 at 11 p.m. Aug. 24. A man traveling eastbound on Rte. 50 lost control of his car, crossed a grass embankment and hit another vehicle westbound on Arlington Boulevard, killing the driver. The man has been charged with driving while intoxicated. Abduction
OLD LEE HWY. N., 1400 block at 9:40 a.m. Aug. 19. A driver making a delivery for a seafood company at a hotel was bound and blindfolded in the back of his truck by a man armed with a handgun. The suspect drove the truck to two locations where he unloaded the seafood. At one stop the suspect was joined by another man who took money from the truck driver. The suspect drove to a third location and told the truck driver that he would return to release him in about five minutes. But the driver managed to escape and run for help. More than $10,000 worth of seafood been was removed from the truck. Sexual Offenses
ARLINGTON BLVD., 2700 block, at 6:15 p.m. Aug. 22. A woman driving from a parking lot was approached by a man on a bicycle who rode by and exposed himself.
JACKSON ST. N., unit block, at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 22. A woman who was jogging was approached by a man on a bicycle who rode by and exposed himself. An hour later she was approached by the man when she was walking to her car. A 27-year-old Arlington man has been arrested in connection with these incidents. Robberies
COLUMBIA PIKE S., 5500 block at 2:10 a.m. Aug. 20. A man grabbed a shoulder bag from a woman walking from a parking lot.
EADS ST. S., 200 block at 2:15 a.m. Aug. 20. A woman and her boyfriend entering an apartment were approached by a suspect who pushed the man aside and grabbed the woman's handbag. After struggling with the boyfriend, the suspect ran out to Fern Street and got into a four-door car that was waiting for him.
FOUR MILE RUN DR. S., 3700 block at 5:49 a.m. Aug. 20. A man walking down the street was approached by three men who demanded his money. A fight ensued when he refused, and the suspects ran away.
JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY., 2000 block at midnight Aug. 19. A man and his two sons were watching television when two men forced their way into the house through an unlocked front door. One of the men was armed and demanded money. The suspects ransacked the house, found some money, ripped a telephone from the wall and ran off.
KENMORE ST. S., 1800 block at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 22. A purse was taken from a woman waiting for a bus.
WILSON BLVD., 1700 block at 10:30 p.m. Aug. 23. A man entered a restaurant and ordered a soft drink. When the clerk turned around to give him the drink the man revealed a knife and took $250 from the cash register. Thefts/Break-Ins
ARLINGTON BLVD. N., 1000 block, Aug. 20. Money was taken from a residence. No sign of forced entry.
ARLINGTON MILL DR. S., 2600 block, Aug. 17. A microwave oven was taken from a business in a town house under construction. Entry was by forcing open the front door.
FOUR MILE RUN DR. S., 4200 block at 9 p.m. Aug. 22. $100 was taken from a residence. Entry was by removing a fan in a bedroom window.
GREENBRIER ST. S., 800 block, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 23. A portable black and white television set, jewelry and money were taken from a residence. No sign of forced entry.
HENDERSON RD. N., 4400 block at 3:20 a.m. Aug. 23. A man entered a residence through a living room window and fled when residents woke up. Nothing was taken.
JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY. S., 1200 block, Aug. 1 to 15. Money was taken from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

THOMAS ST. N., 500 block, Aug. 18. Jewelry, wine and beer were taken from a residence. Entry was by prying open a window screen.
VEITCH ST. S., 2600 block at 1 a.m., Aug. 23. Two men were seen removing glazing from a bedroom window.
WAYNE ST. N., 800 block, 4 to 6 a.m. Aug. 22. Attempted entry reported.
25TH RD. N., 4500 block, Aug. 12 to 19. Residents reported pry marks on a rear sliding glass door.
26TH PLACE S., 700 block, 9 to 10 a.m. Aug. 19. A man returned home and noticed his rear basement door had a windowpane broken near the door handle. He found a suspect who fled.
27TH RD. S., 2600 block, midnight to 1 a.m. Aug. 21. A residence was entered and ransacked. Entry was by breaking a window on the front door.

AMERICANA DR., 4200 block. A watch, pin and cash were taken from an apartment. Entry was by removing a window screen.
ARLINGTON BLVD., 6200 block. Cash and food were taken from a business. Entry was by cutting a screen and unlocking a door.
ARLINGTON BLVD., 6400 block. Ropes and leather harnesses used for tree work were stolen from a business.
BARBARA LA., 3100 block. A home was entered and ransacked. Entry was by breaking glass in the back door.
DARNALL DR., 1300 block. Assorted jewelry and a 1983 Mercedes-Benz were taken from a residence.
HURST ST., 2400 block. Assorted items were stolen from a home. Entry was through a rear basement door.
LEE HIGHWAY, 7300 block. About $750 cash was taken from an apartment. Entry was through a window.
LEESBURG PIKE, 5800 block. Cash and 60 cartons of cigarettes were taken from a store. Entry was by breaking front door glass.
MEDFORD DR., 4700 block. A Harley-Davidson cart was stolen from a garage.
OLD COLUMBIA PIKE, 4300 block. A home was ransacked and coins and currency were taken. Entry was by breaking a windowpane.
OLD MEADOW RD., 1800 block. A General Electric dryer was removed from an apartment.
PATRICK HENRY DR., 2900 block. Keys were taken from an office. Entry was through a rear window.
PATRICK HENRY DR., 3000 block. Cash, rings, bracelets and other jewelry were taken from an apartment.
RIDGEWOOD RD., 5000 block. A Kenwood stereo, two speakers, a Phillips turntable and a Pioneer cassette player were taken from a house. Entry was by prying a window screen.
SOUTH JEFFERSON ST., 3500 block. Twelve diamond gold rings valued at $3,000 were taken from a store.
SOUTH MANCHESTER ST., 3100 block. A gold chain necklace valued at $300 was stolen from an apartment.
TOWERBELL CT., 7900 block. A man entered a residence through a sliding glass door, grabbed a female occupant on a bed and placed a knife at her throat. A struggle ensued, the victim grabbed the knife and the suspect fled.
WOODBURN VILLAGE DR., 3300 block. A General Electric refrigerator was stolen from an apartment that was being remodeled. Falls Church
Falls Church police received the following crime reports from Aug. 18 through Aug. 24:
COLUMBIA ST. E., 500 block, Aug. 13 to 20. Two 30-inch speakers valued at $280 were taken from a residence. Entry was through a basement window.
FAIRFAX ST. E., 100 block, 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. Aug. 21. A locked, silver 10-speed bicycle was stolen from behind a video arcade.
GUNDRY DR., 200 block, Aug. 19 to Aug. 20. A 24-inch red 10-speed bicycle and a purple 10-speed bicycle were taken from a back yard.
HILLWOOD AVE., 100 block, at 2:47 a.m. Aug. 21. A Fairfax County man was arrested for suspicion of burglary outside a business. It is unknown if anything was taken from the firm.
WASHINGTON ST. S., 400 block, Aug. 18 to 19. Two power saws and a wrench, valued at $420, were taken from the back of a work truck.
WILSON BLVD., 6600 block, Aug. 20 to 21. $250 in cash was taken from a business. Entry was through a pried front door.
