The following zoning variance requests were filed recently in Fairfax County. They are scheduled to be heard by the Board of Zoning Appeals this month.

CHOWAN AVE., 4916--Brian D. Jenkins requested a variance to build a living room and porch addition six feet from the side lot line and 9.25 feet from the rear lot line of a corner lot instead of the 15-foot minimum required.

FRANKLIN PARK RD., 6131--Doris W. Wood requested a variance to build a detached garage 12.9 feet from the front lot line instead of the 35-foot minimum required.

LILY DHU LA., 6507--Joann W. Economon requested a variance to build a garage addition 4.9 feet from the side lot line instead of the 15-foot minimum required.

LITTLE RIVER TURNPIKE, 6812--Halim Y. Korzybski requested a variance to allow a gravel driveway and parking spaces for his professional office in his home instead of a required dustless surface.

TALL OAK CT., 3804--Erving and Phylis Cassell requested a variance for a carport addition four feet from a side lot line instead of the seven-foot minimum required. Falls Church

The following zoning variance requests are scheduled to be heard by the Falls Church Board of Zoning Appeals at 8 p.m. today at the Council Chamber, 300 Park Ave.:

BROAD ST. W., 260--Jeffrey Taylor applied for a variance for Potomac Academy of Hair Design for a sign 21 square feet instead of the maximum 10 square feet allowed and located 10 feet from the curb instead of the required 15 feet, and for a second sign to be erected in a public right of way designated for widening by the major throughfare plan.

BROAD ST. W., 1234--Robert Daube applied for a variance to permit a sign to be next to a side property line instead of the 25 feet required.

SHADOW WALK, 316--Col. L.E. Pence applied for a variance to build a single-family dwelling 20 feet from the property line instead of the 40 feet required.

SPRING ST. S., 104--Ethel P. Steirer requested a permit for a screened porch to be seven feet from the side property line instead of the 15 feet required.

SPRING ST. S., 122--Dennis Burke requested a variance for an addition 10 feet from the side property line instead of the 15 feet required.

WEST ST. N., 714--Joseph Sherwood and Kathleen Sykes applied for a variance for a second-story addition six feet from the side yard property line instead of the 15 feet required and for an enclosed front entrance 25 feet from the front property line instead of the average 32 feet required.
