Arlington County police received the following crime reports from Sept. 2 through Sept. 8: Sexual Offenses

SHIRLEY PARK, 8:30 p.m. to midnight Aug. 31. A woman returned to her home and found a man in the house who raped her, took $118 from her purse and fled.

THIRD ST. S., 5800 block, 4:15 p.m. Sept. 1. A man approached a woman, asked her if she had anything for a headache and when she said she did not he exposed himself. Thefts/Break-ins

ARMY-NAVY DR. S., 1100 block, 11 p.m. Sept. 2 to 6:45 a.m. Sept. 3. A residence was entered by using a spare key. Nothing was reported stolen.

JEFFERSON DAVIS HWY. S., 1200 block. Eighty dollars was taken from a residence. No sign of forced entry.

PIERCE ST. N., 1300 block, 10 p.m. to midnight Sept. 2. A metal box containing eight $100 bills was taken from a residence.

WASHINGTON BLVD. N., 2500 block, 7:50 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 2. A residence was entered by breaking a window with the nozzle of a garden hose. Nothing was reported stolen. The burglary was discovered by a cleaning crew.

WASHINGTON BLVD. N., 2500 block, 8:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sept. 4. A neighbor who noticed suspicious activity and called the police. A 33-year-old Seat Pleasant man was arrested for burglary.

FIFTH ST. N., 4000 block, 10:30 p.m. Sept. 2 to 2 a.m. Sept. 3. A 19-inch Panasonic color television set was taken from a residence. Entry was by removing a screen from a kitchen window.

24TH RD. S., 2300 block, noon to 11:30 p.m. Sept. 5. Jewelry, television sets, a stereo system and money were taken from an apartment. Entry was by taking a key from the front desk that had been left for some friends to pick up. Fairfax County

Fairfax County police received the following crime reports from Sept. 1 through Sept. 7 in the Mason Police District and portions of the McLean District: Rape

BAILEY'S CROSSROADS. A 13-year-old girl was talking with a man who grabbed her and forced her behind an apartment complex, where he raped her. A 26-year-old Fairfax man was arrested and charged with rape and abduction. Robbery

DOVER LA., 2900 block. A robbery victim sustained broken ribs and a punctured spleen after a suspect approached him in Pine Springs Park and knocked him down and stole $35. Three other suspects approached and kicked and beat the victim.

LEESBURG PIKE, 5600 block. A service station attendant was approached by a man who said he was armed and wanted money. A second suspect took the victim inside the station and removed an undetermined amount of cash from the register. Both suspects fled on foot. Thefts/Break-ins

BARLEY WALK, 7400 block. A Sony Walkman radio and a Pioneer cassette recorder, stereo receiver and turntable were removed from a home. Entry was through a rear door.

CAMP ALGIER DR., 7400 block. A ring was stolen from a residence.

COLUMBIA PIKE., 7200 block. About $150 cash was stolen from a day-care center.

DONNYBROOK CT., 7700 block. A resident returning home unlocked the front door, but before the resident could enter the door was relocked from the inside by a burglary suspect, who fled out the back door after taking a gold ring. Entry was through a back porch window.

GREENWOOD DR., 6100 block. $550 in cash was stolen from a residence. Entry was by prying a door.

HIGHBORO WAY., 2000 block. A Pioneer stereo and a suitcase were taken from a home. Entry was through a living room window.

LEESBURG PIKE, 6100 block. A video machine, a gold ring and chain, diamond earrings and cuff links were stolen from a dwelling. Entry was by prying open a door.

LITTLE RIVER TURNPIKE, 6500 block. Four Cobra answering machines and two cordless telephones were taken from an office and were later recovered.

MANITOBA DR., 4800 block. A Pioneer stereo pre-amp, tuner, cassette deck and reel-to-reel recorder were stolen from an apartment. Entry was through a kitchen window.

MANITOBA DR., 4900 block. A resident returned home to find an armed suspect in a closet. The suspect stole a Stevens shotgun and fled the apartment.

ROUNDTREE RD., 7000 block. A three-quarter length fur coat and two digital watches were taken from a dwelling. Entry was through a rear door.

SAVANNAH ST., 7600 block. A Sony stereo, three London Fog raincoats, two gold rings, a watch and $155 cash were stolen from a residence.

SIMMONS DR., 1600 block. Two Duo-Fast nail guns, a Makita drill and a credit card were stolen from a parked truck.

SOUTH JEFFERSON ST., 3500 block. A security guard at a business observed a woman concealing seven dresses. When he tried to detain her, a female accomplice slashed at him with a knife. The two women fled in a vehicle driven by a third suspect.

STUART DR., 2900 block. Three gold rings, a diamond necklace, earrings and a man's watch were removed from a home. Entry was through a kitchen window. Falls Church

Falls Church police received the following crime reports from Sept. 1 through Sept. 7: Thefts/Break-ins

BROAD ST. W., 200 block, 1 p.m. Aug. 30. Eighty prerecorded audio-cassette tapes and a briefcase valued at about $250 were taken from a car.

BROAD ST. W., 1200 block, 6 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sept. 1. A bent wire apparently was used to unlock the driver's door of a Ford Bronco. Taken were a General Electric CB radio, a Craftsman tool chest with a set of sockets and wrenches and a high-intensity spotlight. The loss was valued in excess of $500.

FAIRFAX ST. E., 100 block, 7 to 8 p.m. Sept. 5. A boy's red Sears Free Spirit 10-speed bike, valued at $80, was taken from the rear of a video arcade. The bike had been chained to a bike rack.
