The following fire was reported by the Arlington County Fire Department from Sept. 1 through Sept. 7:
20TH ST. S., 1125 at 6 a.m. Sept. 4. A fire thought to be electrical in origin damaged wall paneling, a gas meter and a ceiling area in the basement of a residence. Damage was estimated at $25,000. No injuries were reported. Fairfax County
The following fire was reported by the Fairfax County Fire Department from Sept. 1 through Sept. 7:
RUSTIC WAY LA., 3500 block, at 8:45 p.m. Sept. 3. Children playing with matches were cited by the fire department as the cause of a fire in the basement of a home. Fire damage to the basement and smoke damage upstairs totaled $80,000. There were no injuries. Falls Church
The following fire was reported by the Falls Church Fire Department from Sept. 1 to Sept. 8:
STEEPLES CT., 1008 at 12:30 a.m. Sept. 4. A fire of undetermined origin began in a town house's garage. The garage, its contents and a car were heavily damaged. Occupants of the house were assisted outside by a Falls Church police officer and a neighbor. One person was admitted to a hospital for respiratory problems. The fire loss was estimated at $100,000.
