A 2-year-old boy who apparently fell into a back-yard swimming pool at his Reston home yesterday was in critical condition last night after being resuscitated by a neighbor, Fairfax County police reported.

They said Joshua Aisenberg was in the back yard of his home at 11900 Blue Spruce Ct. with his father Michael about 4:30 p.m. when the father went into the house for several minutes. When Aisenberg returned, he found the child floating in the pool, police said.

Diemiem Smallenbroeck, 16, a neighbor, administered mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, police said.

Police said the child was listed in critical condition at Fairfax Hospital. Child Falls in Pool; Condition Is Critical
