The Coolidge quarterback is one of the main reasons Coolidge is off to such a good start in the Interhigh's Western Division. The Colts are 5-1 after a 21-13 victory over Wilson last Saturday.

Williams scored the winning touchdown with a minute left in the contest and threw the two-point conversion after his touchdown.

The 6-foot, 170-pound senior threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another. He completed seven of 13 passes for 125 yards and rushed for 60 on nine carries.

Williams leads the Interhigh with 12 touchdown passes in six games and has scored 22 points for Coach Sam Taylor, who returned as head coach this year.

"He's really a good offensive weapon," said Taylor. "He knows the offense very well and he will execute. He's a great team leader and the kids respect him. Without saying anything, he leads by doing.

"He can throw on the run or set up. He has a beautiful touch and he can really throw the ball. He can either run or pass."

Williams demonstrates his athletic ability in other areas. He pitches for the baseball team and plays basketball. He can run the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds.
