A 19-year-old Northwest Washington man was shot and wounded by Montgomery County police yesterday after the attempted burglary of an electronics store in a White Oak shopping center that resulted in the arrest of seven persons.

Authorities said Steve Lloyd Price, of 3723 Ninth St. NW, was shot in one leg when police fired a shotgun blast at the car carrying two fleeing men. The driver tried to run down two police officers who attempted to halt the car, police said.

Shortly after 4:30 a.m. yesterday, police said, they saw two cars stop near the Radio Shack electronics store at the White Oak Shopping Center. Three persons got out of the cars and threw bricks through the store's window, and four others joined them in removing merchandise from the store, police said.

Police arrested five suspects at the store and apprehended two others several miles away. All seven were D.C. residents. Price was charged with two counts of assault with the intent to murder, one count of burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary. He was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was in stable condition, a hospital spokesman said.

Also arrested and charged with burglary and conspiracy to commit burglary was a 17-year-old resident of the District; Charmayne Alicia Battle, 20, of 5503 13th St. NW; Anthony Wayne Abrom, 23, of 3548 Rock Creek Church Rd.
