Three $750 tuition scholarships and one $1,000 grant, to students who need financial aid for college attendance this year, are available from the Virginia Extension Homemakers Council in honor of four women who have been outstanding contributors to the council.
The Ella G. Agnew Scholarship is to be used by high school graduates seeking training for a nursing career or in a field related to the medical profession. The Maude E. Wallace Scholarship is given to a high school graduate who plans to major in home economics at Virginia Tech.
The Mrs. Guy Roop Scholarship is awarded to an adult to improve his or her education or training in any field of study at any accredited college or university in Virginia. The applicant should not be currently enrolled in high school. The Hallie L. Hughes Scholarship is awarded to any graduate of an accredited college or university who is, or will be, pursuing an advanced degree in preparation for a possible career with the Virginia Cooperative Extension Service or to an employe of the extension service who is, or will be, pursuing an advanced degree.
