Free help preparing D.C. income tax returns is available through April 15 from the D.C. Department of Finance and Revenue, Taxpayers Services Office, at the Martin Luther King Memorial Library, 901 G St. NW.
Representatives from the Taxpayers Services Office will be available in Room A-9 at the following times:
* Today through March 29, Monday through Friday, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
* April 2 through April 15, Monday through Thursday, 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
* April 5 and 12, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 6 and 13, 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
A Spanish-speaking employe will be available during those hours to help Spanish-speaking residents with their D.C. tax returns.
Disabled residents should call 727-6104, and hearing-impaired people with access to a TDD machine may call 727-5618 for tax help.
Volunteers from the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program will be available in the library's main lobby to help with federal tax returns from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursdays and from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturdays through April 13.
