D.C. police are searching for a 24-year-old Southeast Washington man who is a suspect in an armored truck robbery that occurred outside a downtown Washington bank two weeks ago.
Police said that Anthony Keith Henry, 24, of 1724 Potomac Ave. SE, has been charged in a D.C. Superior Court arrest warrant with armed robbery in connection with the Aug. 23 holdup of a Federal Armored Express Co. truck in front of the Riggs National Bank at Ninth and F streets NW.
Police said that the robbery occurred when two men approached a guard who was placing money in the back of the truck, and one of the men struck the guard in the face with a handgun.
The second man then grabbed a bag of money and both robbers ran north on Ninth Street and east on G Street NW to the front of the National Museum of American Art, where they had a brief shootout with another Federal Armored Express guard who was chasing them.
No one was injured in the gunfire.
One suspect, Horace Graydon Jr., 39, of 36 G St. NW, was arrested shortly after the shootout.
In addition to Henry, police said they are searching for a third man who they think was a lookout during the robbery. Anyone with information is asked to call the D.C. police robbery squad at 727-4400 or the D.C. Police Crime Solvers Unit at 727-3575.
