Thanks to the intervention of Sen. John Warner (R-Va.) the new Prince William County administration complex recently opened on Davis Ford Road has received a special post office designation eagerly sought by county officials, according to information officer Joyce Eaby. The address will now read One County Complex Court, Prince William, Va. 22912. The address had been Woodbridge, Va. According to Eaby, the United States Post Office had not been receptive to the county's request for the special designation, but Warner won them over. "Everybody is delighted," Eaby said.

Eaby also said that the county's Manpower Program placed 190 young people in summer jobs with nonprofit and government agencies and organizations, as well as with small and minority businesses. Young people between the ages of 14 and 21 were given instructions in basic job search skills as well as other employment tips. The county government sponsored 14 youths in the summer job program, Eaby said.

In recognition of October as rabies control month in the county, rabies clinics for dogs and cats are slated for Oct. 19 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Coles, Manassas Park, Hillendale, Botts and Nokesville firehouses. The vaccinations, which cost $7 each, will provide a three-year immunity from the disease for pets over a year old, Eaby said.
