Two Southeast Washington men were shot and killed in unrelated incidents Wednesday night, D.C. police reported yesterday. They said both men had been shot in the head.
In the first case, police said that Zino Bryant, 20, of 1425 Cedar St. SE was shot about 8 p.m. while walking on the sidewalk in the 400 block of U Street NW.
They said an unidentified man stopped his car, got out and ran toward Bryant, drawing a handgun and firing several times.
Bryant was taken to the Washington Hospital Center's MedStar Unit, where he died about 12:15 a.m. yesterday, according to a hospital spokeswoman. She said he had been shot in the head.
In the second shooting, police said that the body of 44-year-old Nathaniel McNab was found about 11:30 p.m. by a U.S. Park Police officer who saw a car, apparently unoccupied, parked along the side of a road in the Fort Dupont Park area of Southeast and went to investigate.
D.C. police said the officer found McNab's body in the back seat of the car, a 1984 Puegeot parked in the 3700 block of Massachusetts Avenue SE. They said that McNab, who lived at 3655 Alabama Ave. SE, had been shot once in the back of the head.
The shooting was apparently drug-related, police said.
They said no arrests have been made in either shooting.
