Bruce Hancock of Adelphi has been named trails planner for the Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission. He will be working on the development of bike and equestrian trails in the county. Hancock has been with the Park and Planning Commission since 1969. Anita Fusco, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Fusco of Capital Heights, has been ranked a finalist in the High Achiever category of the Distinguished Scholar Program of the State of Maryland. The Prince Georges Life Underwriters Association has received the Louis I. Dublin Public Service Award from the National Association of Life Underwriters and the American Council of Life Insurance. The national award is given for outstanding community service. The award was accepted on behalf of the Prince Georges group by Dennis Dawson from Life Underwriter and Ed Jaffe from the Life Insurance Council. Student Leaders Conference
Margaret E. McCormick, 16, of Temple Hills represented La Reine High School at the National Young Leaders Conference in Washington last month. Chosen for her citizenship, leadership and academic standing, McCormick joined more than 200 other high school students from the northeast United States at the conference, a semiannual program sponsored by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council that introduces participants to nationally known figures in government, media and academia.
