The Alexandria Commission on the Status of Women will sponsor its Sixth Annual Woman to Woman Banquet and awards ceremony at the Old Town Ramada Inn, 901 N. Fairfax St., on April 4. The annual dinner is a fund raiser for Alexandria's Battered Women's Shelter and serves to recognize the contributions of Alexandria women.

The banquet will feature a speech by Assistant U.S. Attorney Lois Haight Herrington, director of the Justice Department's Office of Justice Programs. * Starting April 2 at 1 p.m., Fairfax County residents age 55 years and older may receive free advice on car maintenance at the Hollin Hall Senior Center, 1500 Shenandoah Rd., Alexandria and run by the Fairfax County Department of Recreation and Community Services. * The Vienna Arts Society will hold its Spring Gallery 1986 Art Show and Sale April 3-6, from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. at the Seven Corners Shopping Center in Falls Church.
