The Mental Health Association of Prince George's County will sponsor an all-day workshop on parenting skills from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. May 18.
"The Parent Experience" workshop will be addressed by former county school board chairwoman Bonnie Johns, who now serves as director of community services at Prince George's General Hospital and Medical Center.
Ten afternoon workshops will focus on teen-age sexuality, parent burn-out, child stress, single-family issues, sibling rivalry and family communications.
The workshop will be held at the Ramada Hotel, 5910 Princess Garden Pkwy., Lanham. The cost for the workshop, including a luncheon, is $12.50. Participants must register by May 14. For more information call 577-3140.
The Forestville branch of the Motor Vehicle Administration will close May 16. The branch was slated to be closed after the completion of the nearby full-service Largo MVA, which opened in 1984, and the recent implementation of the staggered vehicle registration system, transportation officials said.
The Largo branch is seven miles north of the Forestville facility, at 50 Old Largo Rd., just south of Central Avenue and east of Landover Road. There are nine other full-service MVA branches in Maryland, including one in Gaithersburg.
