Luminarios, a nonprofit organization that provides a communications network for relief services, needs donations for victims of the West Virginia flood. Building materials, household appliances, furniture, canned foods, clothing and cash contributions are being accepted at the Springfield Virginia Warehouse for West Virginia Flood Relief.
Receiving hours are from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week at the warehouse, 7720 Southern Dr., Springfield. Volunteers with trucks are also needed for picking up materials that have been donated.

*The Fairfax County Park Authority and the Green Spring Farm Park will be celebrating Mother's Day at their annual Mayfest Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.
The activities will include plant sales and a plant clinic, a stained glass exhibit, children's activities, specialty foods, and music by the Fairfax Symphony's German Band. Every mother will receive a free plant, and children will receive free balloons.
