The Martha Washington Library at 6614 Fort Hunt Rd., Alexandria, will be closed today and tomorrow to allow for resurfacing of the parking lot. The film "Pippi Longstocking," announced for 2 p.m. today, will not be shown.
The George Mason Regional Branch Library also will be closed from Monday through Wednesday while the parking lot is resurfaced. All programs and activities scheduled at the library during this time are canceled.
For service, library users may call or visit any other branch, such as the Woodrow Wilson, Thomas Jefferson, Richard Byrd or Fairfax City Regional libraries. George Mason Regional patrons are asked to hold until July 24 any materials due to be returned Monday through Wednesday.

Voter registration will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the other local libraries and Silver Pages registration will be available at other branches from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday. The Alexandria Office on Women and the Alexandria Community Y will sponsor a free job search support group from 7 to 9 p.m. every Monday evening.
The group's objective is to provide support and encouragement in searching for a job. Interviewing techniques, resume writing, application completion and successful networking will be some of the discussion topics.
The group consists of women who are currently unemployed or are reentering the job market after many years, as well as those who are employed or are seeking advancement or considering a career change. For more information, call 838-0970. The Arlington Jaycees meet every first and third Wednesday at the National Hospital for Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation, 2455 Army-Navy Dr., Arlington. The Jaycees are a nonprofit organization of persons aged 18 to 35 whose goal is individual development through community service.
The Jaycees are planning several community projects to benefit Arlington County and various national organizations, as well as social activities for young people who live in Arlington and want to get to know each other. Planned activities are a booth at the upcoming Arlington County Fair and a membership night social. The meetings start at 6:30 p.m. with a social hour and are open to the public. The sale will be part of the library's "Saleabration," a day of festivities celebrating the first anniversary of the Bowman Towne Drive building.

In addition to the book sale, the September anniversary celebration will include a celebrity readathon, a magician, films and a balloon launch for children, musical performances and a photo contest.
